Patch notes are out and it's not all good.

Really, really…really disappointed by these changes. Especially this:

*The following changes have been made to Limit Break in PvP:
– The casting time for Skyshard and Starstorm has been increased by 0.5 seconds.
– Cancelling Limit Break will now deplete the limit gauge by half.

Feinting with LB on the flag is a legit strategy and I am extremely disappointed to see they've outlawed it. WHY?

I'm going to say that it's because too many Lames and Failstrom whiners QQed on the forums. It'll only make me want to kill them even faster. (Summoner gets +10% dmg bonus, so I shall be exacting revenge with that.)

Also, Medica and Regen don't stack any more. Can you possibly nerf white mage in Frontline any more, SE? Go on – I dare you to try.

Definitely very annoying with the WHM and BLM nerf to swiftcast, as well as the LB. The WHM regen/medica II is especially annoying because it's a nerf that hurts pre-mades who actually know to have 2-3 healers more than PUGs. We used to run 1 SCH 2 WHM but now we may switch to 2 SCH 1 WHM.

Marauder actually got a huge nerf as well, they upped the defense and attack % of all jobs but not classes. I don't think it even makes sense to run marauder now as you have less STR than a warrior to begin with, less VIT, and you now have a -10% damage handicap.

I'm on the fence about the paladin nerf to testudo. It's 25% damage reduction instead of 50%, but it's to the entire party and lasts longer. I can now use it pre-emptively which might actually be more useful. I can also use it when the node pops to reduces group wide AOE damage.

Do you know if surecast/eqanimity work with the LB? Getting interrupted during the LB now SUCKS so we may have to do that to make sure to get it off. Melee LB is also now a lot more viable as it's a lot faster.

Dragoon got a HUGE buff this patch, impulse rush now adds +30% crit and all of their jumps had timers reduced and less animation lag. We're definitely going to always run with a dragoon now for melee LB, STR buff for the group (especially for the warrior/paladin), and the burst damage. I think dragoon is going to be the new marauder.

Surecast is nigh-on useless in Frontline unless you are sure there isn't a bard, paladin, warrior, Ifrit or Titan-Egi hitting you in the face. If you get interrupted in any way, shape or form whilst it's active and you're casting it disappears.

Equanimity doesn't prevent stuns or silence, so that's out as well. If the LB is half-cast and you get stunned it won't stop it going off, but still … I honestly do not know why they nerfed this so hard. My guess is, Frontline casuals complained that it's too OP when they really just need to be alert and not so lacksidaisical in their approach like 90% of the PuGs we've seen this week.

These changes are both good and bad for us. We will absolutely decimate most unprepared and random-filled teams (the ones that went in with 3-4 WHMs just Medica II stacking before), but it's going to be a lot harder to stay up if our healers go down. Kind of makes it more strategic, but not really because of several jobs' reduced effectiveness. I don't know. Hopefully it won't make it less fun.

We did joke about going four paladins, three scholars and a white mage as a phalanx team for holding flags…

Haha that would be a hilarious team. Paladin Cover + SMN/BLM LB will still work, cover absorbs all stuns/physical hits so that may be the way to play it. We've definitely fought some PUGs who had 5 WHM and just stacked medica II so that will definitely help. We've got one guy who is gearing up his DRG, I'm thinking 1 DRG 1 PLD is going to be awesome, PLD puts up heavy swing and then DRG goes to town, we'll let you know how it goes.

My experience while being attacked by EVERYTHING in Frontlines is that I can use Equanimity when they have already used all of their cooldowns to attempt to stun me and still get every cast off. If you're not being attacked you can probably grantee sneak an LB the group after aoe sleeping them. .5 second longer cast time is huge, but not long enough for the slower people to think of using purify on time to avoid LB (if it's even off CD).

As for the Dragoon buff: I didn't even realize the thing about impulse rush. I'm very excited. Even more so than I was before, now. If I don't get to be the one white mage in our premades now, then I want to be the one dragoon forever. : D

White Mage Regen Cannot be stacked in Frontline or the Wolves' Den.

This one is sucks. But on the other hand, opposing healers beware.

The maximum PvP rank has been raised to 45.
The effects of the PvP property Morale have been adjusted.
During Frontline or Wolves’ Den matches, Morale has been changed from a property affecting damage dealt and received into one that increases the item level of PvP gear. The increased item level during PvP matches will be the sum of the initial item level and the Morale rating.

Example: If a player equips item level 70 PvP gear that grants a Morale bonus of 15, the item level of that gear will be increased to 85 during PvP battles. If, however, a player joins a Frontline match that is synced at item level 80, the same level 70 equipment would only increase by 10 levels to meet the level cap.

The following adjustments have been made to PvP gear:
The Morale bonuses of individual pieces of PvP gear have been adjusted.
An additional attribute has been added to all PvP gear to make up for disparities in equipment strength outside of PvP areas.
* The added attribute varies by item.

Monsters that spawn during Frontline matches have been adjusted as follows:
Interceptor Drone
Will now spawn 1 minute after a match has begun.
Re-spawning will now occur after 4 minutes.

This can actually work to our advantage. 2 Parties will hesitate coming to Markets / Manor in fear of not getting the drones. Since M.Adders usually dont go for mid till node, We might be able to get a few flags well before they come back down.

What was respawn time before? If more drones are popping through the course of the game, that will change how effective skipping mid is.

Ya, I don't mind this at all. 3 medica II's + 3 regen on a healer = long, boring fight.

Drones used to be every 4 mins but didn't pop until 27. I think overall it's around the same amount of drones, they're just trying to get B-teams to immediately go mid instead of assisting on the sides.

This will make it so if we're A/C we're almost guaranteed to take our respective point as we'll likely only be facing 1 group.

I have actually noticed that ignoring mid generally works best when the other 2 groups go for it. If 2 groups ignore it, one group gets it for free and can rack up a lot of points.

I'm pretty excited about the changes to morale in pvp gear. It could potentially expand the best in slot list for frontlines and let us min/max a bit more without having to farm stuff like T5 only to never have that wrist drop.
